Nippon Paint Tile Adhesive and Waterproofing System Warranty covers two types of tile installation defects caused by loss of adhesion or insufficient bond strength, subject to the warranty terms and conditions.
Tile Buckling
Tile buckling occurs when installed tiles lift, tent, bulge, warp, or buckle from their original position. This condition may be associated with loss of adhesion or inadequate bonding between the tiles and the underlying substrate.
The warranty covers eligible tile buckling defects arising from the covered tile adhesive system, subject to assessment and compliance with the warranty requirements.
Tile Delamination
Tile delamination occurs when tiles lose adhesion, slip from their vertical hold and separate from the underlying substrate, potentially causing tiles to become loose or detach from wall or floor surfaces.
The warranty provides coverage for eligible tile delamination defects associated with inadequate tile adhesive bonding, subject to the warranty’s terms and conditions.
Tile Adhesive & Waterproofing Systems Eligible for Warranty
To qualify for the warranty, eligible tile adhesive works and waterproofing must use approved tile adhesive and waterproofing products within the specified application thickness and in accordance with the applicable technical requirements. Depending on the project requirements, the approved tile adhesive and waterproofing system may also include compatible screed, waterproofing, plaster, render and tile joint filler products.
All materials must be selected and applied according to the approved system specifications to meet the relevant warranty requirements.

The Nippon Paint Tile Adhesive and Waterproofing System Warranty is valid for 2 years from the completion of tiling works, subject to the applicable warranty commencement date and terms. The warranty applies to eligible new-build construction projects that use Nippon Paint’s approved tile adhesive and waterproofing systems.
Yes. The Nippon Paint Tile Adhesive and Waterproofing System Warranty covers eligible wall and floor tiling applications in both wet and dry areas. Coverage is subject to the approved substrate, specified installation system and warranty requirements.
Yes. Bathroom, kitchen and balcony tiling applications are included within the eligible wet area categories, subject to the approved tile adhesive and waterproofing system requirements. Other eligible wet area applications may include swimming pools, pool decks, car porches and selected commercial environments.
Yes. The warranty covers eligible defects involving tile buckling and tile delamination arising from covered adhesion or bonding failures. Not necessarily. The warranty applies to approved tile adhesive and waterproofing products supplied for eligible new-build construction projects. However, the selected tile adhesive must be used in accordance with the approved application specifications. Depending on the installation area, compatible test on waterproofing, screed, render or other supporting system components may be required. Applicants should confirm the applicable product and system requirements with the Nippon Paint team before installation.
The approved CMI® tile adhesive products include: CMI® TileFix 181 with CMI® Mortar Admix 380 CMI® TileGrip 185 CMI® MultiFix 188 CMI® Tileflex 186 Each product must be applied within its specified thickness range and according to the relevant technical requirements.
No. The Nippon Paint Tile Adhesive and Waterproofing System Warranty is intended for eligible new-build construction projects only. It does not cover existing buildings, renovation, refurbishment, repair, extension, alteration, retrofitting, overlay or replacement tile works, or applications outside the specified warranty scope.
Under the warranty, the remedy includes the replacement of defective CMI® tile adhesive products and tile replacement, subject to the applicable terms and conditions. However, replacement workmanship, labour costs and associated repair or reinstatement expenses are not covered under the stated warranty remedy. The warranty beneficiary is the appointed installer for the eligible project. The warranty is non-transferable. All claims must meet the specified product, application and project eligibility requirements and are subject to the warranty terms and conditions.
